Stuck in the Rut - Employability Session: is designed to provide participants with an insight into the latest job-search techniques as well as provide them with a range of tools to increase the number of opportunities available and ideally facilitate a return to work as soon as possible.
The session covers the following core areas:
- An overview of skills- this is covered from a three pronged approach. “what they have done”, “what they can do” and “what they could do”
- A review of the labour market
- Explore tool such as newspaper, agencies and the internet to name a few
- The role and purpose of the CV- learn what an “effective CV” should look like
- The dynamics of interviews
- The role of verbal and non-verbal communication, within the context of the interview process.
- Preferred working styles and how this information can be used as a tool to support strategic job search.
By the end of the session participants will be able to:
- Create an effective CV
- Proactively job search with tangible outcomes
- Understand the role of their CV
- Control their non-verbal communication
- Understand the purpose of interviews
- Should perform better within an interview setting
- Action Plan
Each “stuck in a rut” session will last approximately 3 hours depending on the dynamics of the session.
